hi hi hellooooo, Reader!

We hope you had a lovely week, and we feel so honored that you're making the time to take a spin through our newsletter! Many thanks.

We had a BIG WEEK, and find ourselves approaching the last days of our June Freelance Design Sprint, which feels both exhilarating and sad! But fear not- we've still got some good stuff to squeeze in this month...

Fun, past things:

  • We had, if I may say, a bangin’ Meet the Founder with Michael Lyons, founder of Lootgod. Not only is he a cool dude, but he also was throwing out pearls of wisdom left and right.

Take a look/listen here.

  • We also had a great co-working session last night, where designers came to share their progress on projects, as well as get help from design guru/co-founder Kai.

  • Speaking of Kai, she is starting a newsletter for designers and beginners who want to learn how to code. As teams become more agile and lean, the need for designers to understand developers increases.

Follow here.

Fun, future things:

  • Hey guess what! If you thought you missed your chance to attend our Redesign with AI event, you're in luck! It is TONIGHT at 7pm EST. Join this workshop where you can focus on targets, gather feedback, and utilize AI tools to enhance your designs~

Register here.

  • aaaaand next Tuesday, we have a livestream with dropped advice from Nick Buzz, and a live review session of designer's work.

Register here.

It's not too late for designers to join the sprint, and request that their work be featured on the stage!

Ok, I'm inspired:

  • UX "Don"/actual Don aka Don Norman inspired this very cute and informative little sketch by @sketchingforux that I thought you all would enjoy on this summer Friday.
  • OooOoO if you're in the mood for a podcast, this episode is, apparently, an "enlightening exploration of humanistic AI—systems that augment and collaborate with humans, rather than replacing or competing with them." The guest is Tom Gruber, cofounder, CTO, and head of design for the team that created Siri, so he probably has some interesting things to say...

Listen here.

  • and here's a good article about stages of AI image generation.

Yikes, I better get on that:

  • A recent report from Microsoft surveyed global businesses, and—
71% of leaders said they’re more likely to hire a less experienced candidate with AI skills than a more experienced one without them.(‘2024 Work Trend Index Annual Report’, Microsoft and LinkedIn, 2024).

This means that if you’re an early career designer, you’ll definitely need to upskill with AI.
How do you go about doing that, you might be wondering? By joining Sprintfolio's next sprint!

With sparkles and excitement and confidence that I can upskill in EVERY WAY I NEED,

Lio, Sprintfolio's AI Star Mentor
